As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the convenient location, close to everything and especially the cathedral. The room had a lovely view of the cathedral side. The frugal yet nice accommodation had a comfortable bed and a great shower. The towels were clean and the complimentary shower gel smelled good. The breakfast in the beautiful dining room was delicious.
Felt like VIP guests, nothing to complain about.

The room was fairly quiet, with essentials required. The garden served a lot of meals for breakfast. This accommodation had a very central setting in the middle of the city.

Truly enjoyed our 1 night stay. The staff was very helpful from arrival until we left. The venue was set in the very central position near to the cathedral & staff and restaurants. We stopped by Undercroft for coffee and treats, it was a 10-15 minute walking distance from the hotel.

Garden and Sun Terrace: Nestled amidst lush greenery, the hotel's garden and sun terrace offered a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. It felt like stepping into a secret oasis where I could bask in the warmth of the sun while enjoying the vibrant colors of the flowers.
Limited Garden Access: Due to ongoing wedding festivities during my stay, access to the gardens and other public areas was restricted.

We stayed in university accommodation, which was clean and spacious with an en suite shower room and a lovely view of the gardens. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the historic city. The breakfast in the main college was delicious with a great variety of options. Despite the basic nature of the rooms, it was excellent value for a city center stay. I would recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, and value for money.

The room at St Chad's College in Durham was cozy and comfortable, with a fully equipped private bathroom and a refreshing shower. It felt like a little oasis where I could relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. The free toiletries were a nice touch, adding to the overall convenience of my stay. Plus, having a wardrobe and an electric kettle in the room made it feel like a home away from home. As a solo traveler, these amenities made my stay enjoyable and hassle-free.
Subjectively, I wasn't a big fan of the wardrobe in the room. However, I recognize that others might find it useful for storing their belongings.

The location was amazing, right in the heart of the historic city. We were just a short walk away from bars, restaurants, and all the attractions. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide range of hot and cold options to choose from. The room itself was spacious and clean, and we loved having doors that opened onto a beautiful garden. Plus, the fact that there was no one else staying at the hotel made it incredibly peaceful and quiet.
The rooms were a bit basic and could use some updating. And while there was no parking at the hotel, we were able to find a multi-storey car park nearby for a reasonable price.
