Truly enjoyed our 1 night stay. The staff was very helpful from arrival until we left. The venue was set in the very central position near to the cathedral & staff and restaurants. We stopped by Undercroft for coffee and treats, it was a 10-15 minute walking distance from the hotel.

Rooms seem basic, but I got moved to a better one quickly.

The rooms provide a convenient kettle for tea and coffee, a nice touch after a day of exploring. The surrounding garden offers a peaceful escape from the bustle of the nearby attractions.
Rooms are more like basic dormitories, a little shabby around the edges with thin walls letting through noise from outside. The constant chime of cathedral bells every quarter hour throughout the night can be a serious disruption. Plus, it's worth noting there's zero parking available, which isn't great if you've got a ship parked nearby.

Staying at St Chad's College Bed & Breakfast was a nice experience, mainly due to its fantastic location right across from the Durham Cathedral. I woke up every morning with a lovely view of this iconic building. While the corridors appeared a bit worn, it was expected given the historical nature of the college. My double room was simple but had everything I needed, including a kettle for tea and coffee, which I appreciated. The garden was a lovely spot to unwind after a day of exploring. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere there. The breakfast offered a variety of options, including a full English breakfast and pastries. I hoped for a more comprehensive selection, but it was still adequate. The staff were cute and helped with any requests I had, including early check-in. On the downside, the internet connection could have been better. All in all, the blend of history with comfort.

A Cozy and Clean Stay in a Historic Setting
I enjoyed my solo night in a clean and basic room, perfect for restful sleep. The absence of extra amenities didn't matter, as the peaceful atmosphere was good. A kettle for tea. Future guests should take advantage of the lovely garden for relaxation.
